What Is Buckeye State Rural?

Local grassroots organizers formed the Buckeye State Rural PAC, a 527 nonprofit organization, to promote public policies that work for rural communities.

Ohioans, especially those in rural areas, are being neglected by their current representatives. Rural communities have strengths and face challenges that are often ignored when elected officials set priorities for funding and services. Health, job, and education policies that work for urban areas do not necessarily work for families living in small towns and rural areas. Our communities deserve better.

We want to ensure that the representatives we elect understand how they can best serve Ohio’s rural communities. We envision a strong rural Ohio, where challenges are transformed into opportunities. We want to see our representatives implement public policies that value rural workers, strengthen families, and support rural communities adapting to a changing world.  Our efforts focus on the rural counties across Ohio.

Our rural research, strategic planning, and community outreach activities aim to gather information about the needs and opportunities of rural communities, identify public policies that help those communities thrive, and promote those policies in rural communities of Ohio.

  1. Saw your billboard along rt.33. Just thought that maybe your group would like to know that this nation is NOT a democracy as the ad implied. This great nation of ours is a Constitutional Republic and will never be anything else. As I m sure you know, democracy is a direct link to socialism and is a complete contradiction to our Constitition. As an honorably discharged veteran it is a slap in the face to all that have served by calling our great nation a democracy. Just thought a little history lesson was needed.

    • Thank you for visiting. We are well aware that the United States is a constitutional republic. In our message, we are referencing the democratic process, through which we choose our representatives. It is this sense of democracy in danger of being taken from us. We have veterans serving on our all-volunteer board, and they helped conceive of and approve our message. We believe the current president is the biggest threat to the United States.
